We were thrilled to celebrate the upcoming Coronation of His Majesty The King and The Queen Consort with celebratory afternoon teas held across our three sites in London with sandwiches, cakes, and tea enjoyed by our colleagues under bunting and balloons.

We also sent gift boxes to the homes of all of our colleagues containing our limited-edition Lyle’s tin, and a specially commissioned Coronation edition English fine bone china mug, to help them celebrate with their families this weekend. The mug was inspired by one in our archive, which was especially made for Tate & Lyle workers for the 1953 Coronation of the Late Her Majesty The Queen.

It has become a tradition for us to mark special occasions with a limited-edition Lyle’s Golden Syrup tin, and this historic Coronation is no exception. The tin features growing vines, flowers, and apples, all inspired by His Majesty’s love for the environment and nature. We have held a Royal Warrant for over 100 years, a mark of recognition of our long-standing supply of sugars and syrups to the Royal Households, so we are particularly proud to be making a £25,000 donation to the Royal Warrant Holder’s Association Charity Fund to mark the occasion. You can learn more about the Fund on the back of the tin, as well as on their website at https://lnkd.in/dsA6Dwt8

The Coronation mug was hand-crafted in Stoke on Trent by the Caverswall China Company Ltd. Along with their sister company – Halcyon Days Ltd. – they continue to manufacture household items from English fine bone china in the heart of the famous potteries region. And, of course, they are fellow Royal Warrant holding companies. The mug has been marked on the base to reflect that it is a special gift from Tate & Lyle Sugars to our colleagues. Just 1,000 have been made.

We wish everyone a wonderful Coronation weekend.
